Will the Revlon BB cream get you camera ready?

Hello Lovelies

I have a soft spot when it comes to certain makeup and lightweight products that aim to highlight and brighten my skin are one of them.
I was on a lookout for a budget BB cream for a while (just to carry in my bag for touch ups during the day). I love trying out new BB and CC creams although I have my favourites.
My most recent purchase is the Revlon Photo Ready BB Cream. Revlon is a drug store brand and it is fairly affordable and the packaging is on par with higher end brands.

As with any BB cream you must know by now that this isn’t a foundation. If you have pigmentation you will need concealer or heavier coverage.
I like products that offer a dewy look, and the Revlon Photo Ready BB Cream didn’t disappoint in that aspect. Upon application my skin was radiant. Some might find it too oily, but my skin is a little dry so it was okay for me. If you have oily/combination skin you would need to use powder over. Although it does mattify in about an hour or two it didn’t dry out my skin.
The Revlon BB cream comes in Light|Light Medium|Medium|Medium Deep with an SPF of 30.

I picked up this trick of product swatching on the on top of my hand from Huda Beauty as I feel that area is exposed to the sun so it can give you a better indication of how it will look on your face.

I also did a swatch on the lighter part of my hand and you can see the product looks a little richer in colour.

That’s the problem I have the light shades available are too light because they are meant for pink undertones and the medium shades are too rich. #YellowUndertoneProblems
I have to generally mix two shades which is an extra cost. I opted to buy the Light-Medium shade which I found to be a little too dark on me as it settled into my skin.
My only qualm is that it isn’t long wearing and by midday (My Makeup is usually done by 7:30am) there was no trace of the product on my face.

So will the Revlon BB cream get you camera ready ?
My verdict is that the product surpasses some other budget BB creams that I have tried but it doesn’t offer immense coverage as it indicates so you will have to use added products for a flawless camera ready look.

Rating : 3/5
Price R179 (This is what I paid at Foschini but price varies).
